Gift giving is starting already

12 11 2009

for me as its one of my card classes last class for the year on Saturday. I dont tend to do many classes into December as everyone is flat out at that time. So we will be exchanging gifts and this is what I came up with for my recipient (whoever they might be) I wont tell you whats inside as that will spoil the surprise!! Also on this weekend I have my Christmas stamp a stack on Friday night and on Sunday I have the Creative Inkers Tauranga Extravaganza!! Busy busy! So I am currently cutting furiously all the bits and pieces needed for all these classes…Just as well that I enjoy cutting up paper and cardstock aye? The box template i got from Bev Poultney and is a little gem! Bev is in my wider team and doesnt have a blog.  Well had better get back to cutting!!

Top Note box

11 11 2009

Ive been a busy little bee today finishing off this little box, doing another mini album and another little box which I will show tomorrow.

This is for my Kawerau class and is very much vintage inspired from my LO that I showed you yesterday.

I have used Naturals Ivory CS for this project. Ive never used it before but think it might be a new firm favourite with me like Kraft CS. It comes in a pack of 40 and retails for $16.25 so it works out to be just 41c each A4 sheet..what a bargain huh?

This project used 1 1/2 sheets so is a very cost effective project. The  Stamps Ive used is petal pizazz…which is one of my most used stamp sets. IMG_6850

IMG_6851Excuse the photo ..was a bit sunny this morning!

Inside the box is 4 little gift cards and tied up with that gorgeous ribbon (1 1/4 striped Grosgrain ribbon) from the Spring Mini catalogue. If you are wanting to purchase this ribbon you had better get in quick as it wont be available after the 30th November. Email me if you want to order anything. I ship orders all over NZ.

A Winner and a Heritage LO

10 11 2009

Thanks to all who guessed how I did the previous LO below of my great neice. Well everyone wasnt quite correct entirely but one person commented everything I did…and that person is…

Megan

ok I cant work it out but I will try and change slightly what I said was it white embossing powder and you directly rubbed the ink pad over it or even used a brayer. If not any that then I am stumped.
megan

Megan

well I will have another try and add onto what I have previously stated the embossing and apply the ink to the paper then wetting the edges and curled them .

Congrats Megan I will be emailing you to get your details so I can send you your prize pack.

Thanks to all who guessed and gave me some lovely comments!

So how I did the edges was..I embossed the edges with versamark and white embossing powder. I brayered pretty in pink over the top along all edges and a bit of regal rose over the top. I curled the edges of the Bella rose DSP with an aqua brush and used my fingertips to curl inwards and left them to dry. This was was an example showing my WOW technique at Hamilton regionals.

Yes you can use a brayer on your layouts..yes you can use border stamps yes for embossing on your layouts..yes you can pretty much use anything from SU on your layouts.

Heres another I did using a stamp from Thoughts and prayers stamp set (pg 48). This is a sympathy stamp set but I LOVE the tree and the stamp I have used here. I brayered on the edges of this one too..it give that distressed but gives a more even effect…try it!

IMG_6843IMG_6844.Not tried brayering before? Contact me for a class..

cramfamily@farmside.co.nz. I often do brayered cards too like the one in my gallery to the right..2nd one down.

Mini Album Im teaching tonight

5 11 2009

I was supposed to be teaching an Andrea Walford mini album tonight but unfortunatley it must be on the slow boat from the US..so while I was blog hopping yesterday I  came across Makeesha Byls mini album that is on her blog and that is what I am teaching tonight instead..Thanks Makeesha for an awesome mini album! I have changed it slightly and havent decorated it like I normally would with photos as its going to be a prize draw for an Extravaganza I have coming up. This album is easy to do so go and check out Makeeshas blog and have a go! If you are in my neck of the woods then look out for a class in the next month. Everything is cut and scored for tonight so all you have to do tonight is to put it all together and decorate it. I have a range of colours to pick from so not just Christmas girls!

My swaps are all done and I will post my card tomorrow along with a few scrapbooking Layouts I have been doing lately. Come back and see me soon!

Stampin’ Up! training

4 11 2009

We have regular trainings with SU and this Saturday is my areas training regionals. My wider team has trainings too …so every month it seems we are getting together for some training. I love getting together for training and seminars ..not so much for what is taught exactly (although I pick up some new tip everytime) but its the networking and the ideas you get from the other demonstrator that totally make it for me! My new downline Leah from Rotorua will be going to her first training ..im sure she is going to love it. If you have been thinking of signing up and want to come then email me asap…cramfamily@farmside.co.nz

WE often do swaps and so for the past day or two I have been doing my swaps for regionals. I wont show you the card Im doing till Saturday but here is a sneak peekIMG_6820!

My team name and a window card

30 10 2009

Well I think its a window card…a bit of a small window but one all the same.window card

Ive used two stamps and two punches. The 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch punches for making the windows and Ive use the snowflake out of season of joy and the a very merry christmas stamp out of the Best Yet  level one hostess set. I have also used chunky sprinkles and crystal effects and a piece of Ski slope Designer paper.

And Ive been pondering my Team name lately (when you get to Senior Supervisor you can choose a team name) ..after consultation with my downline I chose

Del INK quents.

Yep it suits me to a T lol! My downlines are happy to be part of the Del INK quents and if you would like to be too then email me for more info.

cramfamily@farmside.co.nz

Until the end of the year SU is running a promotion where you can get an extra ink pad (pretty in Pink) and Raspberry Tart DSP for free! Plus SU will give the NZ Breast Cancer Society a donation from every new demonstrator signing up..Now thats generous! Thanks SU.

For me this is very important to me as my family has a Breast Cancer gene and its an unusual one at that. They havent isolated the gene yet and in conjunction with Australia and NZ they may be able to do so. The more money for research on this and on treatment the better we all will be.

Most of us know someone affected by Breast Cancer. I havent been able to schedule a girls day in here this month but I am doing this next month so keep an eye on my newsletter and blog for more details…better late than not at all right?

Have a good weekend!
