Little Scraps of Paper

JAI 212 Colour Challenge

Today I’m off to an annual luxury scrapbooking retreat at Wairakei Resort in Taupo NZ(yahoo!)  ..but before I go, here is this weeks Just Add Ink challenge courtesy of me! lol

Its a colour Challenge this week.

and here is what Ive come up with ..

IMG_6666-001My inspiration for this card came from my garden ..especially my Hydrangeas just outside my back door which were all browned off for the Autumn.IMG_6669-001 Here’s a closeup.

One of my favourite punches, features here ..the 7/8th Scallop circle punch. This one punch features a lot in my cards and my scrapbooking as flowers..all scrunched up and sponged ..just awesome! I decided that I wanted a double bow treatment on this card and loved how they both looked together.

The stamps set Ive used is So Very Grateful which I have coloured with my markers and cut out using the Banner framelits.

Righto, I had better pack my car and head for Taupo! Check out what the other Design Team Members have created this week here.

Lest We Forget…

Retro Thanks!

Hope you all had a lovely Easter! Me? I was sick but still milked the cows and worked at the hospital (was feeling better then) over the Easter break. I didn’t do much crafting unfortunately ..but at least I will get lots next weekend at a scrapbooking retreat!

Lots of layers on this card.IMG_6649-001 I saw this neat idea on pinterest on how to get a border easily with a punch (rather than free draw) …I saw this video (2 minute Technique) by Wendy Cranford and thought ..why didn’t I think of that before? lol..clever idea!

I inked up the Hardwood Stamp and the Hip Notes Stamp set for this card and used Retro fresh DSP  along with some Very Vanilla Seam Binding ribbon..which I made into a double bow.

Here’s the inside ..I used the gorgeous and one of my fave stamp sets from or this Occasions Catalogue ..Just sayin’. If you are a scrapbooker and/ or Project life style creator then this stamp set comes with a matching framelit die. Yummo! I sponged everything with Soft Suede as it was on my desk and couldnt find my baked brown sugar ink pad (in a box somewhere lol)

JAI 211 Sketch Challenge

This week we have a sketch from Paula. Here’s the sketch

JAI sketch Paula-001and here is what I came up with. I was determined to use my new rolls of gold Watercolour  Wonder washi tape for this card …it actually reminds me of the test pattern on TV as I grew up 24 hr TV in those days (showing my age here lol). Anyone else remember that? IMG_6643-002

Here’s the details of this card; Stamps I used were Woodgrain, Teeny Tiny sentiments (which you cant see because of the light but I have stamped on the little soft suede pennant with the gold encore ink) and the Just for you is part of the Hip Hip Hooray card kit. Ive punched 4 petite petal punches of Venetian Romance DSP (leftover scrap from my bottom panel) and one of the gold vellum. I then added a silver brad and wet and scrunched them all up. That lace tape is still a favourite of mine..I don’t know how many rolls of it Ive used over this Annual Catalogue year, but its probably in the vicinity of 40 rolls! IMG_6646-001

I saw someone (let me know if that was you) while blog surfing recently who did the wrapped twine thing..which I thought was lovely so that got a go on this card too.  My twine is the silver one as I keep on ordering the silver one but really, really want the gold one! I think the silver still works and tied in with the silver brad anyway.

I kept the inside pretty plain but still had some washi and twine going on there to tie it all in.IMG_6644-001

So I do hope you can play along with us at Just Add Ink..check out what the other members of the Design Team have come up with here.

Have a lovely Easter Weekend and be safe on the roads if you are travelling.

Woohoo for scrapbooking days!

Lucky me has had a couple of days off work so Ive been creating up a storm.

Just finished this LO using The High Tide DSP. Great for a masculine LO I thought.IMG_6661-002

I know..youve already seen these photos before ..I often use photos over and over again..especially when you have a camera shy teen like my DS!

Closeups below. I used a few stamp sets in this one: Clockworks, Perfect Pennants, Hardwood, Hip Notes and Memorable Moments.

Its the first time I have opened my packet of silver foil sheets and they come up gorgeous when embossed! Off to open my gold one now!

Other supplies Ive used: Smoky slate coredination , WW cardstock, Pacific Point ink, marker and ribbon, stazon black, Wooden embelishments, silver brads, white bakers twine, Arrows texturedEmbossing Folder, basic metal buttons, silver ribbon.

Hope you manage to get some crafting in this week..or is that the plan for Easter?

Wow ..New Likes!

IMG_6637-001Last week I shared my Business Facebook page to my friends and over the past week I gained over 80 new likes to my page!  So to celebrate,  I shared that Id be posting out 5 cards and chocolate to 5 of my new likers (hmm is that a real word?)  from last week. The week ends today so like my page to grab the chance to get some chocolate and a card from me! Here’s one of the cards Ive made to send off to a lucky recipient!  I used the gorgeous Venetian Romance DSP for this card which I just adore.. I didn’t think I would but, when I got my hands on it, I went nuts over it for about 3 months ..and then didn’t use it again until now..

lol, that’s what happens  when you have an abundance of new stuff to play with!IMG_6638-002 I finished it off in the inside using my off cut from the Starburst framelit from the front of my card. Now I’m off to taste test some chocolate! All diets start next week after Easter! Hehehe.

JAI 210 Just Add Easter!

Easter is just next week so this week with Just Add Ink,  our challenge is to get you all ready for Easter!

Here’s what I came up with ..

IMG_6634-001These are an Origami bunny using this tutorial here. I immediately thought fun is that and could easily whipped up by young and old alike!

For my bunnies I used the Retro Fresh DSP which I cut at 6×6. I have also used the 3/4 circle punch(nose and bunny tail) , wide oval punch, white bakers twine, sharpie marker (eyes and mouth), soft suede ink and a sponge. The Stamp set Ive used is Delightful Dozen.

My family were ecstatic to find that the little mini eggs I purchased for these DID NOT FIT! ..and my poor, poor family, had to eat all of the cadbury mini eggs instead!  So off I went to the supermarket again and I bought some cadbury milk chocolate mini bars/treats to fit..what a score for them!

Here is the back of the bunny.

I’m handing these out next week to some of my regular customers at work!

IMG_6633-001So I hope you come along and play with us this week!

Have a lovely and creative weekend.

Hip Hip Hooray Mini Album!

I’m sure there are others who have come up with this idea but I thought the Hip Hip Hooray kit as pictured stampin-up-hhip-hip-hooray-kit-1..would make a fab mini album! I had a couple of hours to spare on Saturday so this mini album took me 2 hours from woah to go!

Something, I probably couldn’t achieve if I made everything from scratch. This envelope album is quick to do and whats better is that I’m giving you a free tutorial to make it…read on!

All of the supplies I used were in this card kit (which retails for $38.95 in NZ…you can order one from me today!) You could possibly get 3 mini albums out of this kit. I used a few extra things in the decorating eg brads and tools.

Heres a collage of the insides.
