Woohoo, I managed to get into my craft room this past weekend and made 6 cards, a PL page and even managed to tidy it up a little (not a lot lol)!!
Here’s four of them. I needed a few thank you cards in my stash and a belated birthday card to do so I used the gorgeous Specialty DSP Gold Soiree and the Bordering Blooms and Fabulous Four stamp sets. The embossing folder I used is called Lovely Lace. I had a lovely time colouring in with my Blendibilties with these and one directly onto the embossed flowers.
Which one is your fave?
Ive been a busy bee at all three of my jobs lately but decided that I needed to create this week so came up with this card using the sketch!
Heres the sketch courtesy of Tina.
…and here is what I came up with using one of my favourite designer series papers (Flashback) and using Amazing Birthday of which I stamped in Memento Black and coloured in with my Bendability pens. The little slits on the matting is using the Spiral border punch.
So hope you can play along with us this week using Tinas gorgeous sketch. Check out what the other DesignTeam members have done here.
Have a good weekend everyone!
This week Kim has given us an inspirational Picture combo for our challenge this week..Here it is..
and heres what I came up with…I coloured the background paper (which is from the Park Lane DSP) with my Blendabilities!
I then made them into bookmarks as I’m forever losing my book mark ..sadly, I’m not reading a fiction book, but a textbook as I’m studying for an exam in November. Blerk!
A little tip when colouring DSP is, to not go to close to the line of the image as the colour will bleed out to the line. Im keen to colour more DSPs now as its very therapeutic to colour in ..when you head is full of scientific jargon and terminology (aka my study for my exam!)
So check out what the other girls in the Design Team have done here. Hope you come and play with us this week!
Its a sad farewell to Paula from the team. We are all very close within the team so we will miss her! I’m lucky in that I will still see and talk to Paula often.
This week we have a challenge from Paula to Just Add Dad. Its Fathers day this Sunday for Australia/NZ so hopefully we will see a few Fathers Day Cards! But, if its not Fathers Day, then any Dad card will do!
Here’s what I came up with ..a simple one layer card ..gasp! (yes its true, I CAN do them lol)
I used the Dictionary Stamp set for the background onto Kraft Cardstock and then stamped down the side with Memento black and the new Four Feathers Stamp set (Holiday mini). The sentiment for the front and inside is from a new hostess set available called Good Greetings. The ‘Dad’ is using Back to Basics Alphabet stamp set. The to and from stamp is also from the new Holiday catalogue. So, I hope you play along with us at Just Add Ink this week! Check out what the other Design Team Members have done here..
Have a great weekend!
This week we have this colour challenge courtesy of Kim ..Kim, you really challenged me with this one!
I actually did two projects for this colour combo ..but for one, I hated the first project and two, I left the card (and all of my stuff..including the ink pads I needed) at Paulas’ place last weekend! Not a great start!
I made the box out of the Park Lane DSP and using our new Box maker (Holiday Catalogue)! Its very easy to use! The tag is showing a new punch we have called the Note Tag Punch..This comes with matching stamps but also fits a lot of other current stamps too. The button..was vanilla and I coloured it with a calypso coral blendability..
So I hope you can play along this week..check out the varied and gorgeous projects the other Design Team have made for this challenge..check that out here
Have a great weekend everyone!
Last weekend, I travelled to Wanganui to teach at my friend ..Paula Dobsons’ Stamp Day retreat. Paula and I do this thing where we teach at each others retreats and its a great way of catching up yearly or twice a year! It was an eventful trip down…
with a shattered windscreen 20km from Wanganui ..which meant I had to stay extra days until it was replaced! No problem..meant that Paula and I could craft and lunch and chat…her poor hubby even had to put his headphones on as we were talking too much hehehehe!
Here is the Layout I taught at her day using the new Kraft Cardstock, Typeset DSP, Decorative Masks and the natural filter paper.
Heres some closeups. I love the new/old spiral border punch, the whats up punch and the new alphabet rotary stamp.
My Daughter is the third one in ..playing Magnolia in our local but professional calibre production of Cats this year.
Other products, Ive used are; PL Point and Click stamps, Gold foil sheet, Perfect prints alphabet bigz die, flower frenzy bigz die, venetian trim, antique brad, gold washi tape, gold sequin trim, black bakers twine, PL grid cards, PL journalling pen.
We had a wonderful day..here’s a collage of my favourite photos..L to R top ..Mt Tongariro, Me, Di and Paula selfie, sheep jam through the Paraparas on the way home, Julia Hewitt and I (Julia used to come to my Gisborne classes before moving). Bottom- Di Taylor doing her Wow, I was first up for the classes for the day, Rhonda, Di and I having fun in Paulas class, PL and crafting with Paula.
The only bad thing that happened is that I came home with the Flu! I don’t normally get sick so its laid me for six….but still managing to craft a little so all good.
