JAI 230- Just Add Dad

This week we have a challenge from Paula to Just Add Dad. Its Fathers day this Sunday for Australia/NZ so hopefully we will see a few Fathers Day Cards! But, if its not Fathers Day, then any Dad card will do!

Here’s what I came up with ..a simple one layer card ..gasp! (yes its true, I CAN do them lol)

IMG_0985-001I used the Dictionary Stamp set for the background onto Kraft Cardstock and then stamped down the side with Memento black and the new Four Feathers Stamp set (Holiday mini). The sentiment for the front and inside is from a new hostess set available called Good Greetings. The ‘Dad’ is using Back to Basics Alphabet stamp set. The to and from stamp is also from the new Holiday catalogue. IMG_0996-001So, I hope you play along with us at Just Add Ink this week! Check out what the other Design Team Members have done here..

Have a great weekend!

JAI 228 Colour Challenge

This week we have this colour challenge courtesy of Kim ..Kim, you really challenged me with this one!

JAI201buttons009

I actually did two projects for this colour combo ..but for one, I hated the first  project and two, I left the card (and all of my stuff..including the ink pads I needed) at Paulas’ place last weekend! Not a great start!

Anyway, despite the lack of ink pads, I managed to come up with a box and mini card. IMG_0948-001 IMG_0949-002 IMG_0950-002

I made the box out of the Park Lane DSP and using our new Box maker (Holiday Catalogue)! Its very easy to use! The tag is showing a new punch we have called the Note Tag Punch..This comes with matching stamps but also fits a lot of other current stamps too. The button..was vanilla and I coloured it with a calypso coral blendability..

So I hope you can play along this week..check out the varied and gorgeous projects the other Design Team have made for this challenge..check that out here

Have a great weekend everyone!

Purrfect Cats

Last weekend, I travelled to Wanganui to teach at my friend ..Paula Dobsons’ Stamp Day retreat. Paula and I do this thing where we teach at each others retreats and its a great way of catching up yearly or twice a year! It was an eventful trip down…IMG_0876-001

with a shattered windscreen 20km from Wanganui ..which meant I had to stay extra days until it was replaced! No problem..meant that Paula and I could craft and lunch and chat…her poor hubby even had to put his headphones on as we were talking too much hehehehe!

Here is the Layout I taught at her day using the new Kraft Cardstock, Typeset DSP, Decorative Masks and the natural filter paper.

Heres some closeups. I love the new/old spiral border punch, the whats up punch and the new alphabet rotary stamp.

The only bad thing that happened is that I came home with the Flu! I don’t normally get sick so its laid me for six….but still managing to craft a little so all good.

JAI 227 -Just Add Chipboard

This week at JAI, Our challenge is from Chantell and it is to include chipboard.

I don’t know if you know this about me but I love Chipboard! I covet and collect chipboard …and have been doing so for 10 years now.I do use it but most of it is non SU.

I especially love to make my own chipboard pieces so I was sooo happy when Stampin’ Up! released their coaster board as up until then I was using the DSP backing and the specialty paper backings for my chipboard. Coaster board is easy to use and you can cut with your thinlets/framelits/XL dies and even on some electronic cutters  too.

Ive been Project Life ing this week ..my chipboard pieces are the bow (which is coming up in our upcoming Holiday Catalogue, the heart (from the hamburger box die) and I have also used some coaster board behind the starburst framelit die in the title.

Here’s some closeups..unfortunately I have dropped my camera during this shoot and Ive damaged my slr lens ..the words failed me ..Im so gutted and will have to claim on insurance.

IMG_7144-001 IMG_7152-001 IMG_7138

Other items Ive used is the PL love story kit and embellies, the RR stickers are from an upcoming PL embellishment kit, silver washi tape, take that punch, banner punch, Tap, tap tap stamp set (hi). sequin from an upcoming product in the holiday mini, White bakers twine, Dots mask, Real red ink, Dauber, Red (cherry cobbler) blendibilities marker to colour the chipboard.

So, I hope you come and play with us this week at Just Add Ink..Check out what the other Design Team have done here

Have a great weekend! I’m allowed out (lol) and off the farm and heading off to Paula Dobsons’ Wanganui Retreat teaching a Scrapbooking Layout this weekend ..more about that next week!

Photopolymer stamps and a Blog hop!

10580041_10152687730752577_2539703885266265521_nYay, I’m participating in an ESAD New 2014/2015 Annual Catalogue Blog Hop today!

You may have just come from Sharlene Meyers blog or you maybe be starting with me..but if you get stuck anywhere, click on the links down the bottom of this post to go to the next blog on the list.

So What is ESAD?

ESAD stands for “Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators” and is a facebook group just for Australian and New Zealand Independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.

We love what we do & love to share with our customers, friends and blog visitors. We also share what we love in our ESAD Demonstrator community, through swaps, challenges, sharing knowledge, ideas& friendship and we’re always there to help and support each other.

So if you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand then please feel free to leave me a comment with your email address then I’ll contact you with information on how to join our group.

So what am I show casing today?

Photopolymer stamps.

These are new to our market and I love them! They are cheaper than our regular clear mount/wood mount rubber sets and of very good quality photopolymer.

I’m especially loving the Border Photopolymers! Ive been using them to make cards like this one..IMG_7004-001 IMG_7007-001

Details: PL Day to Day, PL Remember This, Bordering Blooms, Starburst framelits, Old Olive blendies, gold Dazzling Details, RR marker, gold satin ribbon, RR cotton ribbon, Large polka dot, EF, black embossing powder, versamark, memento black ink pad, Lost Lagoon and WW Cardstock.

BUT, what I really bought the border Photopolymers for ….was for scrapbooking, both traditional and Project Life so here is both of those.

IMG_7000-001 IMG_7002-001

Details: Kraft CS, WW and Black CS, Borderettes, Draw the Line and Bordering Blooms Photopolymer border Stamps, PL Point and Click, Remember This Photopolymer stamps, Back to Black DSP, Black memento ink, Dot Mask, In color sequin assortment, Whats up punch, Little Letters Thinlet dies, On Film Framelit dies, Blackberry Bliss Marker, Impasto gel (non SU), black bakers twine,Rich razzleberry ink. PL journalling pen (when I get DD to journal this page)

IMG_7108-001IMG_7110-001 IMG_7109-001

Details: Photopolymer; Borderettes, Draw the Line, PL Day to Day, Back to basics Alphabet, PL Happiness Is and matching accessory pack, Love story and Everyday adventure accessory packs, Design 1 photo pocket pages, PL journalling pen, basics kraft stickers, memento black ink.

See! Lots of fun with photopolymers! They are really easy to use and makes things so easy to line up/personlise and easy storage too. A few tips I have for a crisp image is to wash them every time with your stamping mist, stamp on a firm table or rubber mat (our paper piercing mat is excellent for this job) and finally don’t press too hard with the stamp as it will squash the image. These should be stored out of direct sunlight and they come in our standard clearmount/woodmount cases.

Alrighty ..now we are off on to the next blog in the blog hop which is to Keryn Campbell…enjoy the blog hop!
