JAI 102 Just Add Kathy Tanner

Kathy is one of our new members of Just Add Ink and Im sure you will agree that she is just Fabulous! Our Challenge this week is to CASE one of Kathys’ designs!

So here is what I cased from Kathy

and heres what I came up with

This card was for my hubby for our 24th Wedding Anniversary recently. I whisked him away for a night at The Hilton in Taupo for some pampering, nice food (Simon Gaults restaurant -NZ Masterchef Judge) and a little bit of ‘ us’ time. Loved it!

So go and check out Kathys Blog here and hope you play along this week. Check out what the other design team have come up with here

Just Add Ink 101

Wow what a blast we all had last week with our blog hop huh? Thanks so much for the lovely comments you left ..love having comments!

This week at Just Add Ink we have a sketch challenge courtesy of Bronwyn Eastley  before she left. Thanks Bron!

and while I struggled with this sketch, Im pleased how it turned out.

The paper is from the Summer Mini catalogue (summer garden) and the stamps used is Charming and Petite Pairs.

Short and sweet post this week as Im on holiday!

A special Birthday card

I made this for a lovely lady whos just celebrated her 75th Birthday!

You cant quite see but the background is made up of a couple of techniques ..direct to paper striping with two colours and stamping and sponging over the top ..okay is that 3 techniques? Then I embossed it with my new EF ..Finial Press ..cant believe I havent got this before (well I thought I had but cant find it! ..or its it old age setting in hmm?)

More mustard scallop circle broke up the background and I could go nuts on my collage stamping! Have been wanting to have a play with this stamp set (Established Elegance)…some more.. Ive previously used it on scrapbooking LOs but I was determined to use it on a card.

Hope you like!

Just Add Ink #100!!

Woohoo its our 100th Challenge at Just Add Ink and weve got a blog hop happening!

Youve just come from Chantells beautiful blog and heres what I came up with using the new Saleabration papers and embellishments(Everyday Enchantment) for our Just Add Crowns challenge.  Ive done a few of these cards for some Birthdays for family and friends recently.

I had so much fun with these papers that I even managed a LO for my DD (Ive altered some of the journalling as some of it was private).. A bit of a tear jerker feel good Mummy moment for me was when I showed my DD the LO and she cried, hugged me and said I love you Mum..awww! (shines halo!) hehehe

I always do a run down of each of my kids year for them to go into their albums.

Now we have a Prize for this challenge! ..Its this..It fits 40 daubers and we have two of these to give away. One for the winner of the challenge and one for a blog reader/participant who comments on ALL of the stops along the way. When youre done email the Just Add Ink hotmail and tell us youve completed commenting on the blog hop.

So now we are off to Jo Eades blog ..click on the badge below to go to her beautiful project! Hope you play along with us this week!

With Sympathy

to all those involved in the Balloon Tragedy over Carterton. What a shocking and horrible loss of life ..gone in minutes. Terrible.

I made this card when I heard the news.

Having trouble uploading this today grrr at my internet connection..so over it!

Inside the panel was originally going to be on the front of my card but just didnt look right so rather than waste it ..it went on the inside!

Stamps used are Charming (summer mini), Petite Pairs and Notably Ornate.

Getting back into it..

card making that is as Ive been scrapbooking up a storm lately. I always struggle switching from scrapbooking to card making again so I thought Id do a challenge to get me back into the swing of things!

The Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC113  inspired me this week with this photo

and heres what I came up with..

I sure had fun making the background and using my new stamp set Charming. Gotta love new rubbah!

I have another card using this background technique but youll have to pop in tomorrow for that one.

Have a lovely rest of the weekend. Very wet and wild here.

Happy New Year and a scrapbooking LO

Happy New Year everyone! Im writing this before dawn (gotta milk the cows) on a New Year and hope you have a wonderful New Year this year!

We have a new scrapbooking challenge at JAI ..check that out here

Heres what I came up with

This LO is using the new Spice Cake DSP and fabric and shows my love of vintage grunge style. This LO is of my Dads first day at school and Ive framed this and given this to my sister for her birthday. The second LO is one of my first ever LOs I ever did (cant find the first!) but it was similar. Nine years ago I did this and was into grunge even then with ink! Was having a bit of a laugh looking at this LO as I was obviously into journalling strips, stickers and chipboard. I think Id just discovered the local $2 shop and was busy pulling fabric flowers to bits so I could get more bank for my buck!

So do hope you play along with us this month for our scrapbooking challenge. Check out what some of the other Design Team have done here.

Have a lovely New Year!

JAI 99

We are having a two week challenge over Christmas so thought we could check out all of your fancy packaging ..not necessarily for Christmas.

Heres some boxes I did up for my Christmas Team Training day recently..we stamped, we ate and we laughed..we had so much fun! I love being with the beautiful bunch of women in my team and I love them to bits.

Okay mushiness over…heres the boxes using that fancy favor Big XL die and some retired ski slope paper that I had in my stash (loved that paper so was very excited to find some !) The flower is using the Fun flowers die and the new glimmer paper.
So hope you come and play with us over the next two weeks. Check out the wonderful creations the other Design Team Members have come up with here

Id like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and Ill be back  for New Years with a scrapbooking LO.

Phew ..

I finally managed to do some Christmas cards for my own nearest and dearest..and posted them off today..hope they get there in time!

Heres what I managed to come up with using the new Cherry Cobbler embossing powder. Unfortunately I bumped my Powder pal tray and the embossing powder went all over the floor!  Yikes..

So 11 cards was it lol
