Meet Peanut..

Ive been a little busy crafting/getting my house in order before calving started and wasnt ready for this... Hubby has named her peanut (we always name the early ones) and is about 2 weeks premature. The good thing is that she will be a little ratbag by the time the rest start to come along in a weeks time and will be able to compete in her mob.
So my time will start to be limited on here for the next 10 weeks or so. I hope to post as often as I can though..sometimes just photos but hopefully a card or three.
Heres a card I did after Paula Dobsons wonderful training at our creative inkers training day recently. Hers was a bag but I did another as a card. Love it..thanks Paula for teaching me!

Stampaholic 10 minute Card challenge

This week Debbie Pike set the challenge for the Stampaholic DT which is a sketch challenge. Here it is. I used my Big shot and cut out 3 ovals using the ovals bigz die in 3 different colours. stamped them up wit sanded and pocket silhouettes, added ribbon (retired polka dot ribbon) and the spiral punch down one side and I was done..Omg it took me 8 minutes and 30 secs! But then I decided to put some crystal effects on the pocket silhouette stamps to give it a bit of a lift
I am still on the look out for a novelty clock..but looking for a cow clock! I bought a shiny red one for my challenge but 13 year old DD nabbed it for her room and Im too scared to go in there to get it back lol.

Just Add Patterned Paper

This week at Just Add Ink …The new Design Team Ladies will be announced ..woohoo! I know ..I know! Check out the announcement very soon..you are going to LOVE the new additions to the team!
So this week is Just Add Paper and here is what I came up with. Im sad to say that some of my stamps have not seen ink or barely seen ink so this was my additional challenge for myself. I used one piece of DSP to make the box and decorate the 4 cards! I love that I can get so many cards out of one sheet! This fortnight, my classes are learning about masking and paper piecing.

Its some ungodly hour in the morning as I write this as I have watched the All Whites play..and am cutting up classes as I type too..no rest for the wicked!

First Dance Layout

This is the LO I taught yesterday for Karen Rogers’ WOW paperKrafters team at her place. First of all she put Jenn and I up for the night..gave me wine and Icecream (not together) and then before my class in the morning…cooked us blueberry pancakes for brekkie..yum! Some sort of scrapbooker I am ..but I forgot to take photos!! Laugh!
This layout was using white space, circle scissors, background stamps, distressing, sponging, stamping, rubons and layering.
The Big shot got a workout with the timeless type Sizzlit alphabet. The photo is of our daughter when she was nearly 4 and we didnt yet have her ballet leotard so she wore her togs and tutu instead!

Im home from the most fantastic team event ever!

This weekend Ive been at the Creative Inkers Team Event in Auckland teaching to 50 plus like minded women and fellow downlines and sidelines of Jacque Pedersen who is NZs Demonstrator of the year.
I was lucky enough to be recognised as in the Creative Inkers top three Demonstrator of the year (I was 3rd) along with Karen Rogers (2nd) and my upline Patrice Halliday Larsen (1st-woohoo!)…more about Karen in tomorrows post.
I was also recognised for my top sales person for the Creative Inkers team (apart from Jacque that is lol) which was lovely to be recognised thank you Jacque!
I cant express enough..my delight in being asked by Jacque to teach my wider team my scrapbooking tips, a LO and how I run my scrapbooking classes. I certainly got a buzz out of teaching my team and to inspire them to either take up scrapbooking or rediscover scrapbooking again..thats what its all about for me. I know it was out of their comfort zones for some but thats all good ..challenges are great for your creativity I reckon!
Thanks to those who have expressed their thanks to me already via talking to me on the day/email or text ..you are all awesome!!
So here is the Layout I taught yesterday for our team event.

The DSP Ive used is Pink pirouette patterns paper and altered it to look like this. Theres lots of techniques taught here and I was pleased to see that some total beginner scrapbookers managed this LO, while it extended the scrapbookers already..which was my focus. Today I taught Karen Rogers team with a different LO but will show you that tomorrow.
I had the pure pleasure of co teaching with Paula Dobson who taught her two fantastic cards using her signature style sponged cards which were totally gorgeous and …man she is one pocket rocket..love her to bits! Cant wait to catch up with her again and Bron Heslop who are such lovely women. The weekend was perfect as I also caught up with my friend and downline Jenn Montgomery who is my sounding block and I hers. She even made my lunch! Im so lucky to have my downline ..they are all such lovely women and I love them all to bits! Stampaholic Friday/Saturday

I have scheduled this post as Im off to Auckland to teach Scrapbooking to my wider team..60 today and a smaller number tomorrow.
This week we had this colour combo from Mitzi Luttrull to work with which was fresh and bright..something Im not feeling fresh and bright about as I have just heard a friend has had a serious car crash. She is okay but it was a near thing.

Anyway onto the card.
we dont have crushed curry downunder so I used Summer sun.
and here is my card..not that happy with it but was in a rush..so it only took me 6 and a half minutes to do.

Just add this colour combo

This week on Just Add Ink we have this colour combo to work with.
and this is what I came up with ..which funnily enough looks like the sketch last week..mustve been floating around in my brain while I was making this.

The paper I have used is Pink Flamingo and Kiwi Kiss patterned paper. The scalloping around the edge of the circle is using the small heart punch which is only $13.50 and in the Autumn/Winter Mini catalogue.

asian artistry simple card

Just a quick post today….I dont know where I was blog surfing the other day but came across a card that used the spiral punch and scored it at intervals..cant find it now to link but it inspired this card. Ive just bought the Sanded background stamp set which I LOVE and I used Asian Artistry (which is a level 2 hostess set) and a sentiment out of Teeny tiny sentiments. Teeny tiny sentiments (Autumn/ winter mini) is such a versatile sentiment set…I have used it a LOT!

Inside was stamped too but havent taken a photo of it.

Im off on a farming conference for the next few days so will see you when i get back.

A couple of CASEs

I was looking through our Stampinconnection this week (our Stampin’ Up! Forum) which has hundreds of ideas and chat about being a demonstrator. Its a fabulous tool when you are stuck for ideas which happened to me this week.

This doggie card is by Kay Vinson although I have done a similar one before with one doggie. I couldnt find my white gel pen for the whiskers for the black doggie but have now added it. This card is for my Sister who looked after our dogs last weekend. Gave my westie (Duncan) a hair cut and gave my Bella (labrador) her chemotherapy..gee sisters are great! Anyway, her curly coated retriever and my labrador get on extremely well and hoon around like puppies! My Westie is friends with her wire haired pointer but thats another story.

This second card is by Kim Badelt which is a great use of the sweet treat cups I thought! I have since added a tag from teeny tiny tags.
