That Owl is so much fun!

This is the card I did on Sunday for my Make n take for a workshop (Thank you Sally and girls!)  I had so much fun teaching this card. The ribbon treatment was inspired by Andrea Walford ..I love using ribbon and I gave the option of using any of the SU embossing folders I own but this one was Perfect polka dot. Some used Elegant Lines and some used the Vintage wallpaper and of course most used the one I did. Everyone had no problems with the scallop trim punch as it is so easy to use.  I used some basic pearls as my inserts of the eyes ..some ladies had theirs crosseyed and all sorts ..lol

The paper is from the Subtles Patterns DSP and it’s a bargain at $45.95 for 40!! I love this paper series from Stampin Up! and as a scrapbooking demo you will see lots of these patterns in my LOs. From a scrapbooking buyers point of view (of nine years experience)  these papers are a bargain.

My diary is getting full but if you want a workshop with me ..email me at cramfamily@farmside.co.nz

Elegant Soiree Scallop Envelope Box

Ive been meaning to do one of these for awhile ever since I saw my upline Rachael do this cute wee box using the envelope Bigz die. Ive used Elegant Soiree DSP which is just devine. This little box and cards are for my hostess this afternoon as a little wee gift. The little gift cards inside are using the Potpourri Level one hostess set, For you Flower and Perfect punches which are all stamps that have a matching punch. Gotta love that!! I have embossed the envelopes with Elegant Lines Embossing Folder and the cardstock Ive used is Naturals Ivory. Ive used Marina mist and Early expresso thin tafeta ribbon here too which coordinate quite well with the papers even though the colours that coordinate with this DSP is Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Basic Grey. But having a look at my new colour coach ..these two colours worked in beautifully. I hope she likes it! If you would like to book a workshop and make this little box as your make n take..give me a call or send me an email. 073048807 or cramfamily@farmside.co.nz. Workshops are free and you can earn free stamps and product..let me tell you how!

Stampaholic Saturday

Ive just got home from a mini break away with my Hubby ..Yummy food and good rest and relaxation. Perfect for the end of calving! Life on the farm is always busy as we head straight into Artificial Insemination on the cows before the bulls arrive in late October.  Tomorrow is the start of daylight saving here so we put our clocks forward an hour so instead of 4.30am wake up it will be a 3.30am wake up call (well that is what it will feel like for our bodies until they adjust!) I do like daylight savings though as it means its the start of barbeque season! Yay!

This is what we had for our inspiration this week ..Its a wonderful picture of some Christmas globes  and I have to admit to using contraband this week as the stamp set Ive used is in the US and Canadian Idea book and Catalogue and I have borrowed off a friend because I have a west highland white terrier (westie) which is similar to a scottie.  This card is for a friend who is going  through a  rough time with her marriage right now. Im really hoping this set comes in a mini catalogue for us this year as a lot of New Zealanders (and Australians) own a dog.The colours/supplies  Ive used are Marina Mist cardstock and ink, Early expresso cardstock, ink and ribbon, A mini clip and tiny tags stamps and tag punch.  Ive used the circle scissors plus for the circles. I had to add the rhinestones to the collar and used my stampa majig for the flowers as though she has thrown the roses out lol. This card took me 7 mins 30s

oh and here is my westie(Duncan) ..hes always grubby cos he lives on a farm. lol

A little cute box

is the Box #2 which is a big XL die so it needs the Stampin’ Up!  Extended cutting pads. This little beauty cuts and scores the box and all you have to do is put a little sticky strip on one tab an put it together in 5 secs flat! The fun part begins when you get to decorate and this is what my ladies did as their make n take last night at an at home workshop.

That owl punch got a bit of a workout and it was amazing how different each owl turned out to be as they had scraps of paper to play with.  I had a few little cards in there but it could easily hold a necklace or pandora bracelet  or even fold up your new Catalogue wishlist and pop it in there and present it to your hubby! lol

Sunny Garden

well I’m sure that’s what we are all dreaming of lately with the wild weather over the past few days but no ..this is this gorgeous new DSP which co ordinates with the cottage garden stamp set but I have used  Just Believe instead. This is a box that Tanya Kitto did for the Helping Hudson tutorials which I purchased. Its a very well written tutorial so thank you Tanya for your creativity. I used my new favourite thing ..Butterfly embossilits! They are so cute and my ladies last night just loved using them. This was a gift for the hostess and the fancy favour box was the door prize. Ive used the scallop trim punch, Pear pizazz poly stitched ribbon and daffodil delight taffeta ribbon together.

Ill post the coordinating make n take tomorrow (big tease aren’t I)

Off to take my car to the car doctor as its a bit sick.

Ive been having a few workshops lately

and this card is one I did last week that the ladies did as their make n take card. Im demonstrating this card tonight at an at home workshop (check back tomorrow for the make n take box, the door prize and the hostess gift). This card uses the new in color Poppy Parade and uses the neutrals and in color patterns DSP packs which are a bargain!  The new border punch is so easy to use and gives such a lovely look don’t you think? The ladies loved embossing their card through the bigshot too using the Elegant Lines embossing folder.  The stamp set is a level one hostess set called Silhouette Sentiments.

Those little mini clips are so darn cute and Ive had to order some more!  Ive just noticed Ive lost a pearl for one of the flowers but Im in a hurry today to get everything done..coz I have bookwork to do for the rest of the week..yuck!  But then I’m heading away for a night of fine dining and 5 star accomodation with my Hubby so that will make up for it!

If youd like to book an at home workshop ..call me on 07 3048807 or email me on cramfamily@farmside.co.nz

Gotta go..have a lovely crafty day.

Stampaholic Saturday

Its Friday over in the States but its Saturday here in New Zealand so that means its time for a new challenge. This week the challenge is a sketch from Mitzi. wowsers this was challenging for me but thats what I love about challenges! Heres what I came up with in 8 minutes out of necessity as I was cutting and scoring for my scrapbooking class as well!

The paper Ive used is called Playdate and its gorgeous! Ive used a matching rubon  and stamped a thank you greeting out of  Baby Bundle (cos that was on my table lol)

I used my new Scallop Trim border punch which i just adore!

Ive added the new lovely White satin ribbon to finish it off.

Hmm not that happy with the card but I love how bright and cheery it is! Perfect for our horrible weekend in New Zealand. We have a storm the size of Australia over us at the moment!

But perfect timing for crafting this weekend!.

Im squealing with glee as I have boxes and boxes of new stuff to play with! Yay!

Just Add Sympathy

This week its a theme challenge over at Just Add Ink which is Sympathy. We all unfortunately need Sympathy cards and often its tempting to go and buy a card because you dont know what to say? Well there are poem and saying websites you can go to and copy and paste a poem onto a piece of copy paper for your insert and voila you are done. I think its really lovely to get a handmade card when you are grieving. I remember when my Dad died a few years ago ..a friend sent me a handmade card and I loved it..it felt so much more meaningful somehow?

Anyway I digress so this is the card I came up with which ended up being a bit more cheerful than I started out to do but nevermind! The stamps Ive used are sincere salutations which Ive borrowed from my downline Jenn. The other set is a set I loved when it was in a previous mini catalogue and was happy to see it in the new Idea Book and Catalogue. It is called Hello Again(pg 68).  I used my stamp a majig to do the leaves and extend the stalks. The colours Ive used are Poppy Parade, Pear Pizazz, Baja Breeze and Early Expresso.  The new Whisper White satin ribbon is gorgeous to use ..and I will be using metres and metres of it Im sure. Ive finished it off with a bit of bling.  Righto off to cut up for my Scrapbooking class tonight..I havent quite finished the mini album either so will be putting final touches today. Have a lovely Friday!

Stampaholic Saturday

This week for the stampaholic challenge we have a colour challenge and for those of you out there with new stuff this will be right up your alley so do join in!

Marisol Gutierrez chose these colours this week and she picked the colours CHERRY COBBLER, CERTAINLY CELERY AND CHOCOLATE CHIP.

I dont have my Cherry Cobbler ink pad yet (still sitting at the postal depot no doubt) so I substituted it for Riding Hood Red.

I did a bit of watercolouring this week as I need practise with watercolouring.  I still havent got this quite right but I was happy how it turned out. The stamp set is called Every Moment and I got this for free for attending our regional training day recently! Gotta love free stuff right?

The embossing is using the vintage wallpaper embossing folder. Ill be showing you tomorrow more on that.

All in all the card took me 15 minutes to do. I love these colours together ..Thanks Marisol!
