Shimmer again ..a LO this time!

This was my first Lo that I presented at Convention. Showing the ‘white space’ /framing technique and using the shimmer paint resist or faux porcelain technique. I Brayered on this one in Night of Navy but I sponged on the day as I had a cameraman over my shoulder filming me. I also showed that you can make rolled rose flowers out of the scallop oval punch too. I was quite surprised when lots in the audience didnt know about the rolled roses so just goes to show ..you should never assume you know everything. (which I dont). This LO is the naked one but I showed how to cluster your elements with some of the flowers I made.

JAI 69 Just Add Fussy Cutting

I love fussy cutting! Fussy cutting is grabbing your pair of snips or even your manicure scissors and letting loose on some paper (preferably around an image lol). Thanks to Paula who gave us this challenge this week..I certainly had fun with this LO.

This paper is a specialty paper called Nursery Suite (pg 124). Ive stamped and cut out lots of flowers from ‘Greenhouse Garden’  (pg 81) and leaves from ‘Happiness Shared’ (pg 80). (fussy cutting) and Ive used Clearly for you (Autumn/winter mini) for around the circle, on the title and here and there with the ladybug and little flower just to fill in any gaps.

Ive also used ‘Notably Ornate’ (pg 95) for the bird and journalling spot and the title is from ‘Word Play’ (pg 103)

There are two roses (one you cant see as its just a bud underneath the large rose) and Ive cut out two little leaves sizzlets. Punches Ive used are the owl punch (rose), scallop oval (rose bud and centre) Five petal flower for some leaves under the rose and the decorative label punch for the title.

The use of the white gel pen and a bit of bling were little touches to finish it off . I know Ive shown this photo of my daughter but I just had to document how much she is growing at the moment…she is growing up too fast! Its so not fair that she is now taller than me!

So I hope you play along with us this week. Do go and have a look and what the other girls on the Just Add Ink DT have done here.

Arent they awesome!!

Another Presentation Layout

This one was inspired by my card here

I was showing shimmer paint, Tasteful trim dies, the cutter kit and using different stamp sets on my LOs. I showed how you can alter the Bevelled window panes.

There is also shimmer paint on the photos as shimmer paint is acid and lignin free.

Of course showing composition tips in my presentation.

Heres a closeup of the detail.

Convention presentation Layout

Here is one of the Layouts I showed at convention as part of my presentation. It was to show what you can do with shimmer paint and the tasteful trim die. I had a little chat about composition for all of my LOs and tips on how to convert Scrapbookers into Card makers and vice versa.

This Mini album didnt make the cut for convention..

This Mini album didnt make it to my presentation at convention as I didnt want to use shimmer paint on it and all the others had shimmer paint used on them. But it was perfect for showing over at Stampamemory this month.

This mini album is a double Zig Zag fold. You can see all the details over at Stampamemory

Shimmer Paint Card

I made this recently and showed it as part of my Convention Presentation. (will show all the projects in a couple of days). I havent shown it yet because it was my shoebox swap for my team training today. All of us bring a project and enough kits for all of us to do it. Lots of fun, gasbagging and new ideas! I just love team training days!

This card is using a techinique that Andrea Walford has shown on the Paper Crafters Library. Basically you use Frost White shimmer paint and colour it with grated chalks (SU pastels used here) It gives a luscious shine and reminds me of twinkling H20s ..so now you can make your own with Frost white shimmer paint and all the colours of the SU colour spectrum..gotta love that!!

The stamps are Bella Toile and Thanks for caring and the embossing folder is petals a plenty. I have brayered over pretty in pink over the beautiful butterflies.

This card inspired a Layout I did for my convention presentation.

JAI 68 colour combo

This week we have these colours to play with..

and this is what I came up with…

Do go over and check out the other Just Add Ink Design Team at JAI to see what theyve done and hope you play along this week!

Just a brief post as busy prepping for an extravaganza in Gisborne tomorrow.

Convention round up!

Im back from a wonderful week in Melbourne catching up with these wonderful and crazy women (most of the Just Add Ink DT). I had such a blast seeing and hanging out with these girls that it was my main highlight of the trip. My sister Andrea and Downline Moana also made it so much fun too.

I really enjoyed presenting on stage as well and Ill show you the projects that I taught at a later date.

Of course The Awards was pretty special too seeing all my friends and team up on stage getting awards. Most notably Jacque Pedersen who got NZ Demo if the year, Patrice Halliday Larsen who got 3rd in Demo of the year and my guest at the awards dinner (Sandra Everitt) getting 4th and The Rising Star award for NZ! Sandee is not in my team but we have hit it off and am looking forward to seeing her on the Incentive Trip in October.

I was lucky enough to be placed 5th in NZ Demonstrator of the Year and also went up for the Incentive trip winners and the 40K sales category. By my reckoning I was 5th in sales for NZ. So a huge improvement from me from last year (10th in demo of the year and 5th in sales). Im very happy!

Righto off to do some washing and prep work for Gisbornes Extravaganza this weekend.

Just Add A Sketch

This week Bron has given us an awesome sketch to use for JAI 67.

Here it is

and heres what I whipped up! My card looks like I have paper on it but its all stamped. This card technique is called Delft tile technique and is actually very easy to do if you use two post it notes and a sponge. Ive used my favourite stamp set at the moment which is called Greenhouse Garden.

The zig zag is from the Tasteful Trim Big XL die and the leaves are the Sweetest Stem embosslit die. The greeting is from Notably Ornate and punched out with the Modern Label punch.

You have to check out the beautiful cards that the other members of the Just Add Ink Design team have come up

with here..arent they gorgeous!

May Card Classes

This is one of the things my ladies are doing this week for my card classes in Kawerau, Opotiki and Whakatane for our May card class. A bit of punch art flowers…

Today Im busy finishing off swaps for Convention next week, cutting up 30 plus kits for card classes and now theres no time to do any housework..oh dear..do I appear worried..no lol!

Dont forget to email me any orders for the Deals of the Week asap so you dont miss out on a bargain. These deals will revert back to normal price when the deal finishes or runs out of stock.
