Tag album

This was my final project that I showed at Convention. I havent shown it yet as Ive been busy teaching it to my classes. Im almost done with teaching it (just one more in Rotorua in a couple of weeks)

If you are like me when you make mini albums ..the inserts always come out and then end up in the wrong pocket so I made this album so they dont fall out at all. They are made with our large square envelopes (you can see my other smaller version in a couple of days). They hook up on the flap of the envelope.

Now my inspiration for this album was from a card I saw a couple of years ago but I have since moved computers and I cant find the link for that. I made mine vertical though.

Ive since found another version using CD envelopes since I made mine and you can see Michelle Allens’ here.Check out that website..lots of yummy ideas there!

Just when you think youve come up with something new..you find someone on the other side of the world has done the same. lol

Mine was a 70s inspired album which I thought went beautifully with the Autumn Spice Specialty papers.

I had a lot of fun using these papers, felt, Tasteful trim die,  flower folds die, lots of jumbo eyelets and my fave….adhesive sheets! My main focus was on the journalling so there is very little stamping on there. The photos I sourced from the internet as my parents were terrible at taking photos and used to cut of the heads when taking the photos..lol was that just my parents or did yours do that too?  We also lost a lot of photos in our flood in 2004.

If you are interested in a kit or doing this class in Rotorua or a private class then.. email me!

JAI 73 Sketch Challenge

This week at Just Add Ink we have some blog candy! And two blog candy at that! So get your stamps and scissors out and play along with our sketch challenge this week.
Mae gave us this sketch to play with.
and this is what I came up with…

yep another CAS design again this week.

Ive used that lovely lace and black satin ribbon on Very Vanilla, black, Very Vanilla and Soft Suede CS. A bit of dry embossing and a bit of bling and I was done.

Check out what the other Design Team girls have been up to here

Pams Second Glitter Card.

Pams second card at the Australian/NZ convention recently was made with fine glitter and was a real wow. When I made this ..I decided it was going on my display board..I just cant quite give it away yet! Its actually quite an easy card to do with the Sizzix adhesive sheets. (Available from the Autumn/mini catalogue) Ive used the fine glitter in champagne, red and black for my card. A note of warning about SU glitter is that it goes EVERYWHERE! So I reccommend a powder pail tray for this one lol

My DH gave me a hug and kiss while I was making this card and then went off to golf ..glitter all over him! He must have got some funny looks from his golf mates aye?

Glitter Queen Here I come!

At Convention recently, my co presenter was Pam Jorgensen who wowed us with glitter and adhesive sheets. Well most of my class ladies know I love adhesive sheets and I was just itching to CASE Pams cards.Pam unfortunately doesnt have a blog so I cant link to her. Fabulously talented!

Heres my card using Autumn Spice Specialty Paper, adhesive sheet and French Foliage stamps. The glitter Ive used is retired (chunky glitter).Hopefully we will be getting the new Glass Glitter which the US/Canadians have …which would be fantastic with this card wouldnt it?

Thanks to Pam for your inspiration. Come back tomorrow to see the other card Ive done using our SU fine glitter. Both have been what Ive been teaching at some of my card classes this month.

JAI72 Just Add Colouring

This week at Just Add Ink we have a challenge that really challenged me..just add colouring. I totally suck at it! I guess Im my own worst critic with it so Ive kept it simple this week having discarded a couple of cards already.

Its also because Ive been away most of this past week at a farming conference ..yes remember Im a dairy farmer as well? Well Ive been doing the farming thing with my hubby this week and then finished up at the National field days in Hamilton and a night at a resort after ..for my birthday. Scary stuff these birthdays! Getting up there…

For this card Ive layered two top notes and used my new 2011/2012 IB &C sneek peak stamp set again for the background ( Creative Elements). The little flowers Ive coloured in with a blender pen and ink pad is from my new stamp set (Every Little Bit).

A CAS card for me!

Check out the beautiful cards the other Design Team girls have done this week here.

JAI 71 Black and White

This weeks Just Add Ink challenge is from Paula this week and it is to use just black and white on your Card/Layout or project this week.

Ive been itching to ink up some new stamps…so here is a little sneak peek of some new stamps coming in the new Idea Book and Catalogue in September.

I got these stamps at convention last month (for free) and have many more to show you over the next couple of months. Our Demonstrator pre order for the new catologue is just over a month away ..cant wait!

Ive used two new stamp sets here ..one is called My Friend (which is the silhouette flowers) and the others are from Creative Elements..I love this stamp set!! We all got this set as part of our two free sets at convention.

So hope you all come and play with us this week. You can check out the other lovely Design Team Girls cards here

Stampamemory for June

This month we have a Theme Challenge to add buttons to our LOs ..If you didnt know this about me ..Im a button hoarder and have a huge stash of buttons. So this challenge is right up my alley!

Ive been a bit arty on this one but love how it turned out..having a play with platinum shimmer paint and Gold glow Smooch Spritz for the background and using Botanical Gazette DSP. The buttons Ive used is the neutrals buttons and Ive stamped with ‘Youre a Gem’ (Autumn/winter Mini) and ‘Happiness Shared’ (main IB&C). Lace, ribbon and Vintage trinkets added in here and there. Check out what the other DT members for Stampamemory have come up with here

JAI 70 Round Sketch

This week we have a sketch from Bronwyn

Shock horror its my first Christmas card for the year and absolutely no stamping to be seen  on it!

These papers and elements are from the Christmas Cheer Scrapping kit. Im planning on making some Christmas cards early this year and have them in my stash for December.

The inner circle was cut out using my circle scissors plus, had a self adhesive sheet applied (to make it into a sticker) and run through the Lattice embossing folder and the big shot.

I couldnt find my scallop circle die so a little non su made its way onto my card.

Check out what the other girls have come up with this week here along with our two new guest designers this month.

My Team Swap

Last weekend I was at a team meeting in Gordonton (near Hamilton NZ) with my wider team. Rachael Knight and Patrice Halliday Larsen had asked me to show what I taught at convention and we also had a run down on convention and made some cool make n takes courtesy of my sideline.. Kristine. Here is one of them (cant seem to find the other)..Im not so great with the versamarker pen Ive discovered..so will have to play some more on that one!

I hadnt brayered for ages so expect to see some more  brayered cards soon! I was also lucky enough to score one of Kristines swaps. I just adore this one!

So here is my card for my swap. The chipboard tags took ages to make and I was so over it by the 14th card..just as well there was only 14 swapping! lol

Banners and pinwheels seem to ‘in’ at the moment. Ive been using them on a few non SU scrapbook LOs lately too.

The stamp sets are word play and tiny tags. the punches Ive used are itty bitty punches  .Summer_Mini_CarryOver_0311_AU-NZ  (from the last mini catalogue)
