Beyond the Garden

Put your sunnies on for this one as this Designer Series Paper is lovely and bright..and perfect for fussy cutting.

Ive made this today for a cousin who has just turned 40 recently.  Hope she likes it!  Stamps used are Fabulous Florets, Tiny tags and For My Family.

Its Election Voting day here in NZ but Im swanning around in my peejays as Ive already voted on Wednesday. I didnt actually know you could do that (and its not a special vote either!) Do now though!

JAI 95 Bah Humbug!

Hehehe this weeks challenge is to use no Christmas images or papers and to only give us a Christmas sentiment and all the rest is non traditional.

Ive used some new goodies coming out on the 1st December in the Summer Mini Catalogue here.

The silver glimmer paper is totally gorgeous. I coloured the Christmas trees with my markers but you can use daubers/aquabrushes and reinkers to do the same. Just make sure you heat set it at the end to finish it!.

 

The paper is Spice Cake. The embossing folder is Stripes and the sentiment is out of For My Family (which is a stamp set I use a lot!)

The tree bases are from Pennant Parade.

JAI 94 Sketch Challenge

This is another of Bronwyns beautiful sketches this week at Just Add Ink. 

And this is what I came up with using the new red glimmer paper coming out in the Summer Catalogue (1st December). The poinsettias are made with the Petal Blossom Punch and there is a pic of one in the Idea book and Catalogue (pg 23) but I especially like how Sharlene Meyer did hers so Ive CASEd her way of doing them.

This is a hinged circle card using Brushed Silver cardstock.  I used Garden green for the leaves and Cherry cobbler and the red glimmer paper for the flowers. The little flowers are punched out with an Itty bitty shape punch.

Heres the inside..the stamps Ive used are

Snow Swirled and Petite Pairs.

Fancy Favour Christmas Box

I saw the cute boxes by Sandi MacIver that she did recently for her countdown to Christmas and just had to have a go myself using some new products coming up in our new Summer Mini Catalogue on the 1st December.

Ive been hanging out for Bakers twine forever! ..so yippee weve got some! This is the Cherry Cobbler/White one..but Ive bought all three!

Ive also been having a play with the iridescent ice Embossing powder which Ive brayered over the top with Cherry cobbler..yummo!

and the final item Ive been playing with is the new glitter paper. You will see more of that on Friday.

Of course I had to use that lovely Cherry cobbler seam binding ribbon ..cant get enough of using that stuff.

Stamp set is Tags til Christmas.

 

One of a Kind Christmas Show

This past weekend Ive been showing at this inaugural event locally in Whakatane and it was a huge success. This is the reason why Ive been quiet for the past few weeks on my blog as Ive been busy making stuff for it.

Sorry this is a long post..

First of all I made lots of these..

But then this came along(on Morphine for end stage Lymphoma ) and ate them all..(this was just a selection here) To say I wasnt impressed is an understatement but its all my fault as didnt put them up out of the way one night of one hungry labrador (shes now inside) ..so with 10 days to go ..I was in some panic!

But I got there in the end..with quite a lot of late nighters.

So here is my stall. The banner took me ages to do and used the pennants die. Below it is some fridge magnet gnomes using the blossom petals builder punch (Ill show you those another day), then from left to right :

I had colouring books (thanks to Kirsty Brown for that idea)

I sold excess and retired cards..not many left of those.

The empty mini milk cartons were popular. I used the tea time scrapping kit for those which made it quick and easy to whip up..one lady bought 12 of those in one hit. yay!

The Elf legs (Julia Leece provided the pattern thanks Julia!) were a hit ..well the girl ones were and had to make up more at the show ..as soon as I made them they sold.

The pillow box slippers (Valita Reynolds) were a hit too (but hardly any sold and right on closing ..2 ladies came along and bought the whole lot! (I hadnt discounted them at all either) so go figure!

I had a basket of hair clips done with the blossom petal punch and also some post it note keyrings. These took me ages to do and didnt sell that well but thats okay I can just use them as little gifts.

Hanging up were more of those keyrings and gift tags. They sold well too. I have some left but Ill use them for my gifts lol

Below that were some mini albums using the Tickets and tags scrapping kit and the one I did for JAI a couple of weeks back.

The other basket had some cute little boxes that were empty. They were popular with the teenagers.

In the basket shelves were some altered shopping lists which were another top seller. I used Mocha morning specialty for those.

Below were some little jars with some Christmas peppermint lollies and my mini Christmas crackers.

On the tray was some two tag die Frerror Rocher treat containers and some Toblerones wrapped in Mocha Morning DSP and the scallop square and duo dies. These were a hit too.

At the back of that was my petal cone kit kat treat containers which were popular too.

I also hung some on the tree.

And thats about it.

All in all..a very enjoyable show..I spent any profit I made on Christmas gifts from the other stall holders though lol. Lots of yummy stuff. The local feedback was very positive so I guess this will be a goer for next year!

Just Add This Colour Combo

This Week  at Just Add Ink, Kim has given us a beautiful colour combo. I didnt think Id get time to play this week as I have a Christmas show this weekend and busy making stuff for that.

I was looking at the colour combo thinking ‘what am I going to do?’, when, I though aha..button!

I hoard buttons like you wouldnt believe but this one is brand spanking new. Its a little sneak peek of the next Mini Catalogue..shh!

Ive had trouble trying to take a photo of it..thats what happens when you leave it to the last minute to get your act together lol..but it is actually Melon mambo and Certainly Celery in there.

Just Add a tag or bookmark.

Well this challenge  at Just Add Ink was right up my alley this week as Ive been making lots of tags and bookmarks for a Christmas Show Im doing in a couple of weeks. It was too hard to choose but I settled on these Christmas tags.

These shipping type tags are easy to make and have plenty of room for writing lots of seasonal wishes on them.

Ive stamped with the snowflake from the Snow Swirled stamp set in Crumb cake and Early Expresso all over the Very Vanilla CS and adhered some Letters to Santa DSP to the bottom half. Added some chantilly Lace Crochet trim (love that stuff) and finished off with a stamped Deightful Decorations Ornament in Early Expresso and punched out with the corresponding ornament punch.  The pearl just set it all off and I was pleased how this set turned out..

Christmas to do list

I dont know about you ..but I always need some organisation with my Christmas planning so Ive made this Christmas To Do List which Im teaching this Saturday at my Christmas Classics Class with my downline Karen. We are looking at a wonderful day ..I have a few spare spaces so go and have a look at the Christmas class Extravaganza page and book in ASAP.

I wont show you the inside yet but it is sturdy and handy for your Handbag.
