Januarys’ Classes

I’m back to work part time this year and there will be a few minor changes with classes but generally not much will change.

I have a January 19th class in Edgecumbe (at the barn for the regulars) and we will be doing a card organiser and cards using the new Saleabration DSP, stamps and ribbons.

Heres the organiser. We will be doing some quick cards to go in it too. $20 for the class which goes from 10am to 2pm. BYO lunch!

Email me if you are wanting to come by Friday the 18th.

Team Christmas Lunch

Today my team got together for our Christmas lunch. We opted to go to a cafe this year rather than do pot luck at someones house so it was off to Julians Berry Farm and Cafe.

I always make and give a gift to my downline at Christmas and here is what I made for them.IMG_4112-001 I’m sorry I didn’t take more photos of the others! Too busy chatting and enjoying the yummy food at Julians berry farm and cafe. Came home with some of the best strawberries and raspberries in the Bay!  Even my Mother has been down (from Auckland) to get strawberries from local berry farms so if you are in my neck of the woods (Whakatane) stop in and get some berries.

JAI 145

Yes I’m busy at the moment so that’s why posts are infrequent at the moment but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel appearing so hopefully that means more blogging time yeah!

This weeks Just Add Ink challenge is a sketch challenge from our sketch queen Mae Collins and this one is just gorgeous!

So heres what Ive done for this challenge as I needed some packaging for some little pressies for my Mum. I’m meeting her today for lunch and shes heading off to her Beach house for Christmas so inside I have lots of little gifts for her for Christmas. Its a bit hard buying stuff for my Mum  so I concentrate on all yummy foods she likes and give her some handmade items as she loves those!

So for this bag I started with a brown paper bag and gold embossed the flourish out of Creative Elements. I then cuts some Naturals Composition paper for the bottom and embossed it with the lacy brocade embossing folder.  Ive used my new finishing touches edgelit die on this which I just lurve! A few glimmer stars for some extra bling and the window framelit completed the sketch requirement.  The topper is cut with the scallop square and finished with the VV seam binding bow. I hope she likes it!

Do check out what the other girls on the team have done here and hope you play along with us this week!

JAI 139 Just Add Something New

This week at Just Add Ink our challenge is from Tina whose challenge is to just add something new ..well where do I start as have boxes and boxes of new stuff..stamp sets I havent mounted yet, paper packs that I havent opened yet and embellishments I havent opened yet..so I decided to bust out my new die..the purse die. These are for some of my team as little table gifts this weekend  as Im off on a luxury Scrapooking retreat at Wairakei Resort. Spring Escape is an event run by Nic Howard and her friend Lucy. Im so excited to be meeting and being taught by Paula Cheney!  So Ive made up some of the purses for them too!
Its lovely to have 5 of my team members there too getting our scrap on! Will show you some photos next week of the event.

So check out  what the other girls have done here with all their new stuff. Hope you come and play with us this week! Dont forget we have a scrapbooking challenge running too.

Santa tag tutorial

Ive forgotten to post this quick tutorial for my Gisborne Ladies.. so have quickly taken a photo of the punches/dies you need to do this Santa tag. I saw this post and pinned it on pinterest. Ive just adapted it to SU punches and dies.

You need to cut out two of the Holiday Ornament dies. One in red and one in white. With the white one, sponge with pink pirouette on the top third. With the red one (for hat), punch with the Decorative Label punch (you could also use the curly label too). Discard the red part or punch out a small circle for the nose. I actually used the owl punch as I had it on my table but a Half inch circle punch would do the trick too (I know a lot of you have the owl punch and the Blossom punch). Punch out two blossom punchies in white. See photo for what you need. The large blossom is for the hair under the red hat. Stack up the moustache pieces with bits of dimensionals and add the nose with some glue. Draw in the eyes with a black marker pen.

All done!

Gisborne Extravaganza!

My downline Karen and I had the pleasure of teaching over in Gisborne last Saturday. I do monthly classes over there but this time we did 6 projects  so Karen taught 3 as did I. We had 24 ladies come along and had a ball. Heres some photos of the day. Heres a closeup of the goodie bags I did for them.  The tags I saw on pinterest but it wasnt SU. Will do a tutorial on that in a few days as lots of my Gisborne ladies are asking! The name tags were using the sweet treat and coconut for the snow.

We are already planning one in Rotorua and one in Whakatane so watch out for details for those events.

ESAD Holiday Catalogue Blog hop

Woohoo another blog hop for ESAD and this time its on our Holiday Catalogue…which surely has to be the best yet? Youve just come from Narelles blog but you can access the blog hop at any stage and a master list is at the end of this post.

These projects Ive done were for display at the Auckland Heartfelt event last weekend. It was a struggle to do a 3D item incorporating brayering but I hope I managed it? This card set and gift box with tags are using the scrumptious new Candlelight Christmas Specialty Paper (pg 4), the Window Frames Collection Framelit dies (pg 30) The Holiday frame embossing folder (pg 7) and the ribbon slides (pg 31). In my cards Ive also used the 1 1/4 scallop circle punch (pg31) and Merry minis punch pack (pg 6). Hope you enjoy our ESAD Blog Hop!

Wow two posts in one day! Im very excited to be part of my very first Blog hop with ESAD!

Youve just come from Leonies  beautiful creations and Ive used a few of the same new products from the New Autumn/Winter mini catalogue as well. This mini starts today! You can see the new mini here.. Autumn mini 2012

Okay these are what I made at Stampcamp a couple of weeks ago using the new gorgeous Twitterpated DSP and Riding Hood Red pleated ribbon..I just LOVE it and bought all of the rolls available when I put my preorder in! The box and 4×4 card set was finished off with Bordering on Romance stamp set and a bit of watercolouring. I didnt use watercolour paper for it though..and used the Confetti White leftovers from my base cards to stamp and watercolour with.  I was quite surprised how well it took the ink without pilling it up..so I learnt something new!  I love to fussy cut so cut these out and used our new Blossom punch on the box. Theres a lovely matching stamp set with it, but I havent got that yet..unfortunately.. couldnt afford all of my wishlist in one go.!

Not finished there..I got to play with my new Framelet dies, edgelet dies and matching embossing  folder with this card. The matching stamp set is Apothecary Art.  I finished it off with some new island Indigo Bakers Twine and someTwitterpater designer buttons.. Im a sucker for buttons so had to pop them in my order.

Righto ..off on the next stop ..we are off to see Libby Dysons beautiful creations.

You can click on the badge link below to go to her blog.

Have a lovely looksie on our blog hop this weekend!

JAI 111 Just Add Easter

Wow with Easter just one week away ..our challenge this week is to Just Add Easter.

Heres my baskets I made to sell for my latest show.

The papers are retired on these but they were perfect for the job I thought. I used the petite pocket die for these boxes and just rolled down the flaps. The bunnies were paper pieced for the eggs and a quick run around with a marker and I was done.  I do leave myself in a tizz sometimes as only decided the Tuesday before the show to actually make stuff up to sell at the show.  Heres my stall with my Daughter posing for Camera!

I made acetate carrots using the petal cone die (contained orange choc easter eggs, boxes of cadbury eggs, my baskets and some little pillow box bunnies.  The other tray was made by my downline Ali and contained home made fudge yum!  Ive blurred out a couple of things as will be showing those to you on Sunday.
