Little Scraps of Paper

JAI 220 Sketch Challenge

oops its Friday so Im late getting this post up ..days just run away from me sometimes!

This week at Just Add Ink we have a sketch challenge courtesy of Kim it is

JAISketch003It immediately said ‘Gift bag’ to me when I first saw the sketch, so, this is what I came up with using some new Products coming our way on the 1st July. This paper is called Lullaby.

IMG_6872-001I had some of leftover artwork from this card so I whipped up a tag using some Project Life bits and pieces (washi, the best sticker, acetate arrows all from the Everyday Adventure Accessories kit), the stamps I used were PL Day to Day, Hello There (hostess set), Love Lace background stamp and Hip notes. I used the new thick bakers twine for my bag closure and coloured my pearl with a Coastal Cabana Blendibility marker.

Glimmer paper, ribbon and dazzling details all in silver completed my project.

So I do hope you come and play with us this week at Just Add Ink. Check out what the other girls have done here

JAI #219 Inspiration Challenge

This week at Just Add Ink, we have a wonderful Inspiration Challenge for you courtesy of Trish..check out what the other Design Team have come up with here.

Here’s the challenge photo.

JAI #219

Here’s what I did for this challenge..I thought masculine for this card.

IMG_6870-001I’ve used three different stamp sets for this card..oops ..normally limit it but couldn’t help it !!!  The Work of Art stamp (stripes) set is quite varied and I’m loving the inspiration so far seen on blogs using this set.  I also used the Something to Say Stamp set for the stars and the greeting. Love lots of the sentiments in this set and it also has a mini punch set for the stars, flower and heart.  My fave stamp set at the moment is the Amazing Birthday stamp set ..yep its all about Birthdays but it rocks lol.

I’ve used the matching banner framelits to add a feature to one side.

HOPE you all come and play with us this week but if not then to at least get some inspiration!

Have a good weekend!

JAI #218 Colour Challenge

Hi ..been AWOL as had my birthday and a farming conference this week.

Hubby and I won a major comp for our corporate NZ farming group and won Supreme Dairying Award..such a hard but rewarding happy!

Just as well as I had sorted out this weeks Just Add Ink challenge last week aye?

Here are the colours you can choose in this challenge..Choose any three of these..

JAI201buttons005I chose Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green and Midnight Muse…and love what everyone else on the Design Team chose..check that out here.IMG_6850-001

I used the I Love Lace Background stamp as well as the Teeny Tiny Sentiments and the starburst from Kinda Eclectic. I punched out the I Love Lace backgrounds using the petite petal punch..added a mini brad and all done..super happy how the flowers turned out!

So, Im off to the National Agricultural Fieldays so had better get on the road..

Happy Stamping and have a great weekend.

JAI # 217 Just add Cake!

Be it cupcake/wedding cake or any sort of cake..we want to see it at Just Add Ink!

Here is what I came up with using the retiring stamps sets (Just Married) and (Delightful Dozen-this stamp set has been a fave over the past year). Just a traditional type wedding card with some embossing (decorative dots) and a lace doily or two and some organza ribbon. Ive used smoky slate cardstock and embossing powder for this of my favourite colours as goes with everything!

IMG_6859-001So I hope you can come and play with us this week at Just Add Ink. Check out what the other Design Team Members have done here.

Have a happy weekend filled with crafting!

JAI #216 Just Add Watercolouring

This week at Just Add Ink we have a challenge from Paula to use watercolouring.

I’m not the best at this but I try and try ..but Ive gone the easy route this week and gone for a watercolour wash. (I’m chicken right? lol)

Here’s my card!

IMG_6839-001Ive used a few new 2014/2015 stamp sets that I got at the Inspire Create  Share Convention held recently in Melbourne.

The front panel is on watercolour paper, of which, I embossed ‘I love Lace’ background stamp with a smoky slate embossing powder.

Love how that turned out ..almost like a mesh!

Ive used a few drops of Coastal Cabana reinker in water in my aquabrush and coloured over the embossed panel. When dry, I then stamped in ‘Kinda Eclectic’ and ‘Hello There’ (hostess set).. I stamped in Memento Black and heat set it ..I love Memento Black for its vibrant black finish.

This card is for our new workers on the farm ..they arrive from the deep South on Sunday so this card has gone in a bucket of goodies for them..(not showing as they might be looking)

IMG_6836-001So please do check out this weeks challenge at Just Add Ink..we would love to have you along for this challenge!

JAI #215 Colour Challenge

This week at Just Add Ink, we have a colour challenge for you courtesy of Mae.

JAI201buttons006Not my cuppa tea of colours I have to say but that’s the beauty of challenges right?

Here’s what I came up with using a set I haven’t used for awhile (Mixed Bunch)

IMG_6775-001IMG_6778-001Of course, that set coordinates with the Blossom punch. I also used the 1 1/4″ scallop punch for the sentiment (Delightful Dozen Stamp set). The new fringe scissors made a short work of the bottom of the card. (They also double fabulously as a handy tool in the kitchen, cutting chives and parsley hehehe!)

DO come and play with us for this runs for TWO weeks as most of  the Design Team are off to the Stampin’ Up! Convention next week. Check out what the rest of the Design Team have done here

Have a lovely weekend and happy crafting!

Tin of Cards for My Mum.

IMG_6731-001Happy Mothers Day for yesterday for all those Mums here and gone. I gave my Mum a tin filled with my cards for Mothers Day and had a wonderful day with her (took her out to lunch).

She was also down for the start of our Daughters debut as Magnolia in Theatre Whakatanes Cats. OMG, what a fab show! It runs until May 24th, so if you are local (or even Rotorua or Tauranga) then get your tickets from iTicket!  Lots of people are saying it is just as good as the professional shows in Melbourne and UK! I agree but I’m probably biased!

Hubby and I have seen it twice so far and plan on seeing it again at least once!

You’ll be seeing some Layouts with photos from the show so watch this space in the next few weeks..itching to get my hands on some of the professional photos from Mike Geddes (awesome photographer).

Also wanted to show you this of the oops cards from last weeks Just Add Inks Sketch Challenge. IMG_6699-001Yep did the diagonals the wrong way ..and while that is still cool, I wanted my card to be the traditional sketch.

Deets on this card- I used the silver foil sheets, Silver vellum, Cherry Cobbler ink and candy dots, Smoky slate CS and candy dots, Hounds-tooth embossing folder, Whisper White CS, Just sayin’ stamps and matching framelit and Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

Was a bit chuffed to do a masculine card for a change as I sometimes struggle with those!

Righto off to make some swaps for next week as I’m off to the South Pacific Stampin’ Up! Convention in Melbourne…I’m so excited to be catching up with all my Stamping friends.
