Not long til the ‘fat man’ comes and Im running around like a headless chook getting stuff done..amongst the daughters rehearsals, concerts (3) and a visit from the MIL and Mum and Partner so doing all of the Christmas eating and being merry ..and having my last card class for the year tomorrow! Might just collapse in a heap on Christmas night lol
Anyway I have finished this ..its a present for our Daughter. Its a shadow box canvas and has memorabilia from over the year. Ive also written some little scrolls of all her achievements over this year.
This has been a year of disappointments but a few very special highlights like this one….dancing as a back up dancer at the glow concert at the Vector Arena in
Auckland in front of 10,000 people! (she is the one far right)
So I wanted to show her that she had many highlights and wrote 15 scrolls of highlights..and I’m sure there is a few more to come yet! I hope she likes it!
We are very proud parents of our beautiful daughter who not only is a talented singer and dancer but has the most beautiful soul. xxx Jennifer!
I would like to wish all who read my blog a very Merry Christmas and Have a wonderful festive season!
Do check out what the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team have done here!

If you are a new online customer ..then you can sign up here and shop..sending your products straight to your door. Please make sure you are in the NZ and my shop! (put my name in the demonstrator finder)
Every online order in my shop goes into win a basket of goodies (stamps/ribbon/inks worth $100). This prize draw will be drawn on the 31st December
Every online order gets a Christmas card from me too…which is below.
Here is my final Christmas card design of the year..a simple one but Im quite taken with it and the colours have inspired a canvas for my final Gisborne class.
Ive been a busy bee with my Christmas Extravaganza events lately and here is one of the projects I did with at our Gisborne and Whakatane events.
These new swing card thinlets are soooo cool to use and as you can see have extra dies that can be used with it or by themselves. There is also a circle one too and both retail for $67.95 NZD. So with this one I extended the card and made it into a desk calendar. You can write on the inside as a card and then on the back has the mini calendar tabs so its a card that has a use as well!
I also made a matching box using a video I saw on pinterest. You can see that video here. Its using the envelope punch board which is my new favourite tool!
So Ive done a photo picture tutorial which you can see below. Hope everyone can understand it. This is Coastal Cabana but we used all of the incolors for my events. This colour matched my Daughters ball dress beautifully though! One Christmas pressie all sorted for my Mum and my MIL!
Have a lovely week..I have a few days off this week and should really be cleaning my house but …..my craft room is calling!
I’m all in a rush this morning and cant find anything to take with me to a stamp camp this weekend where I’m teaching! I wish I was more organised in my scrap room so I could just pick it up and pack it lol ..obviously I’m not one of those sorts!
Anyway enough rabbiting on …here is my card for this weeks challenge over at Just Add Ink.
The masking Ive done here is Santa behind the tree so I masked off the tree and then stamped with the Santa. I haven’t quite finished with this card as I’m putting our sons name up the top to go along with a mini album for Christmas …here’s a sneak peek of that. Cant show the whole thing as I’m teaching this album at my upcoming Extravaganzas this month! This was my first attempt at masking for awhile so it was a bit hit and miss! lol
Do go and check out what the other girls have done here and hope you play along with us this week.
This weeks challenge at Just Add Ink courtesy of Paula is to Just Add Grunge…um well I actually had trouble with this challenge but then I had this lightbulb moment and my card was done in 15 minutes! Love how this card turned out and reminds me of celestial night skys or the Northern Lights.
Any here it is
This technique is called Gesso resist and is a lot of fun to do. Ive been teaching this technique in my scrapbooking classes lately and is a real wow and a lot of fun to do.
My Daughter has already snaffled it for her friend for Christmas..might make some more up! The colours I used was Cherry cobbler, Primrose Petals and Bermuda Bay. I stamped over the top with silver encore ink and the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. The greeting is from a hostess set called Warmth and Wonder (Holiday Mini).
So check out what the other girls on the Design Team have done here.

And I cant go without showing you some creation …while Im busy with Christmas classes at the moment ..I made this simple Birthday card just recently as a quick card for my classes. I love the hessian ribbon..its my fave at the moment!
Oops had a sleep in this morning (first one for a couple of weeks) and just got up to find my post hadnt published.. lol
This post on Just Add Ink was my last as Coordinator as Mae and I have both decided to step down and let some of the other girls run JAI. Ive enjoyed running JAI over the past 3 years but my life is just crazy busy at the moment so I needed to let go of something. I still will be on the team ..just as a design team member instead. All four girls will do a wonderful job of running it.
So this weeks challenge is from Nikki and it is to Just Add Colouring.
I just used my blender pen to colour this image in (Giggle Greetings) ..which I think is hilarious. This stamp set appeals so much to me as its my sort of humour!
I actually did 2 cards for this challenge as the second one was a better colouring image but I cam home to one of my cats sleeping on it and it got a bit munted/screwed up/bent out of shape! A seal of approval I thought! lol
The paper is Venetian Romance.
Hope you come and play with us this week at Just Add Ink and check out what the other Design Team Members have done here
Okay this is one card that is simple to do but oh so effective. Ive done this card in two colourways (but cant find the other one at the mo..sigh..such is my life at the moment ! lol) The masking tape technique is easy to do using a low tack painters masking tape and running across your ink pad.
Ive used the wetlands set for this card which is just gorgeous. I will be using this set lots I think! The Hessian ribbon is a new product sneak peak which is coming up in our Occasions Holiday Mini Catalogue which actually goes live on the 29th of August. If you havent got a copy yet and live in NZ then let me know if you would like one?
The background is using the dictionary stamp set and a few different ink pads and rolling the stamp. This only works if you have a clear mount.
Anyone local just an advance warning about the Whakatane Beacon and Leisure show which will be on the 6th/ 7th and 8th of September. I will be selling off all of my retired stamps on the Sunday (8th) I have lots to sell and priced to sell so come down and get a bargain.
Yay..a weekend..oh except that it means Im milking the cows…darn it! This working and working and working is NOT on! Luckily I have made time to be creative these past few weeks! Heres another card Ive been teaching in my August card classes.
Its a fancy fold card and using the Deco Labels Collection to shape the card. P.s the sentiment was straight originally but looks like it hasnt had enough coffee now and is on a lean lol
The Perfect Blend Stamp set was one of the first on my list..as a lover of coffee this is perfect for me and lots of my friends. The sentiment is from Lots of Thanks.
Just a quick note to say that The World Map stamp set is now available to order. (It was on hold as they had to make a new stamp image as there was some concerns in the US on some of the words on the stamp) Rather than offend anyone, SU took the extraordinary step of removing the stamps and making a new one. Love this companies morals and sensitivity. You can order online in my online shop (see my sidebar) or simply email me
Righto ..now that I have done 5 hours of farm work I shall go and have a couple of hours of creating!
Hope you get to create something today too!
Yep I had to have a try at these starburst technique cards too and here is one I came up with for my August classes.
I used Eastern Elegance DSP and then embossed them with the Beautifully Baroque EF. My new favourite Framelits are the Deco Labels Collection framelits. The stamped on e was a cut down one but I also used the Chalk Talk framelits in my classes (some of them are large classes) which looked great too. The stamp set is the fun “Yippee Skippee”.
My ladies are having a wee giggle at the ‘knicker elastic’ (Ruffle stretch Trim) but of course its lovely in all the new in colors!
Ive just been away on a mini team retreat in Gisborne. There was 10 of my team (including me) there and we had a wonderful time at the Emerald Hotel crafting, gasbagging and eating and drinking..
My next team retreat is on the East Coast at Te Kaha in February. Wanna come? Email me ..just got to join my team first! lol
Heres a couple of photos ..we have a shoe box swap every two months for my team trainings (the other month we just BYO stuff to do) ..this month we all had one to do whereas usually we take it in turns and only do 5 or 6 but we still managed to get them all done on the Sunday! Good aye?
Also Id like to welcome LeeAnn to my team. She is from Northland so if you are near Whangarei then I can pass on her details.
Have a lovely crafty day
