Thanks for getting me to Utah!

This past weekend has been a wonderful time in my life, I spent the weekend with 30 other women at my inaugural Creative Escape Retreat in Ohope Beach. We had some fabulous classes from Teneale Williams and Paula Dobson

and I did a mini album class too!

While I was there ..I found out that I have achieved a trip of a lifetime..a free/expenses paid trip to Utah in the US with Stampin’ Up!  WOW!

So I wanted to come and say a BIG thank you to my customers for all of your support this year (SU year is 1 April to 31st March) and especially to to my team for all of your efforts and support too!

Christmas Lodge

This was a card I made for a workshop I did last week. All but one were experienced crafters and a simple card just doesnt cut the mustard for those experienced crafters so I tailor my workshops to the ability of the customers.  I give options if any are new to card making so that they can choose if they do some of the steps but I find that most end up doing it all and loving it!

So in reality I was busting to ink up this stamp set as it had just arrived lol.  Ive been wanting this stamp set since it came out so was on my second order of goodies just for me..the next day I got my third order ..just for me…lol ..all five boxes of them ..well okay there was cardstock, catalogues and order forms in there too but the rest was for ME!

Supplies: Christmas Lodge, Come to Bethlehem stamp sets, DSP is Festival of Prints DSP stack, Fancy fan embossing folder, labels collection framelits, EE Embossing powder, EE Coredination CS, EE Tulle ribbon, Holiday paper piercing pack, Apothecary accent framelits, wide oval punch, Versamark, Dazzling Diamonds, Two way glue pen, Dimensionals (of course).

Spoilt!

Ive just got back from running my Edgecumbe class and guess what 3 of them gave me for doing so well at Convention?

This….

Isnt it funky! I had to laugh,  as obviously its my Sisters idea as I often lose my brown and boring suitcase on the baggage pick up carousel and it goes around and around until I recognise it ..lol. So she obviously had a chat to these other two and they bought me one that I aint gonna miss! Love it! All three were together for the first time since I came back (it was late May/June) and they spoilt us all with cupcakes, juice/fizzy and buns for lunch. Arent they the best!!!

Thanks so much Andrea, Lorraine and Carroll. Love you girls!

My Team

Every month I have a team training for my team (The Delinquents). Every second month its just a BYO project to work on and the other month is a full training and shoe box swap…and potluck lunch. Not everyone can make the trainings but its great fun. This month it was a BYO month and this was what I was doing.. cutting up ribbon for my team ribbon share. I have lots of Hobby demonstrators in my team (just buy for themselves to get the discount and get cheap and free product) so this ribbon share was great for them as they might not necessarily want a whole roll of ribbon!

The others worked on a mini milk carton box which one had instructions for and others worked on making a Christmas ornament..you know THAT Christmas ornament on the cover of the Holiday Catalogue.

As usual I gave out prizes for top sales and any promotions for the last month and Augusts prizes went to Francie Clegg, Sandra Patton and Karen Ross.  I also challenged my team last training to come up with a card using a piece of DSP, and two bits of Cardstock that I gave them. Here are the two winners! The first card  is from  Karen Johnson and second one is from Barbara Cuttance. If youd like to know more about joining Stampin’ Up! and my team ..then email me!

My team spoilt me recently as a present for doing so well with the SU awards I got for last SU year and gave me a voucher for a facial..heaven! I saved it until we had all finished with calving so really enjoyed having that facial yesterday. Thanks girls!

Gisborne Extravaganza!

My downline Karen and I had the pleasure of teaching over in Gisborne last Saturday. I do monthly classes over there but this time we did 6 projects  so Karen taught 3 as did I. We had 24 ladies come along and had a ball. Heres some photos of the day. Heres a closeup of the goodie bags I did for them.  The tags I saw on pinterest but it wasnt SU. Will do a tutorial on that in a few days as lots of my Gisborne ladies are asking! The name tags were using the sweet treat and coconut for the snow.

We are already planning one in Rotorua and one in Whakatane so watch out for details for those events.

Busy busy busy

I meant to post this earlier today but Ive been busy prepping for my Gisborne Extravaganza this Saturday. Luckily I have one of my downline tandem teaching with me so only 3 projects each to prep for x 25 kits! Im also making goody bags for them all so no rest for the wicked lol. I still have a few spots left if anyone in Gisborne wants to come. Email me for details!

As promised here is another Brayered Card I did for the Auckland SU Heartfelt event. Im in love with the Core’dination cardstock . Ive used  Early Expresso (127848) with the new Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder (127819) and sanded it back with the SU sanding block. Love the look dont you? The paper is another hit with me as its the Festival Prints Stack (126904) which is great value with 48 sheets of card sized DSP sheets.  A lot of them can be used for other cards too not necessarily Christmas. Dont you just love those window frame framelits? Yum! Especially as it has a matching piercing mat pack. Finally,  I finished it off with a beautiful Crumb Cake Tulle bow and I unthreaded some threads from the new cotton ribbon to add my Merry tag. My Tiny tags stamp set gets used a lot! lol

Righto had better go and sort out dinner. Tomorrow Ill be showing you my 3D projects for the event. See you tomorrow!

Its also a busy time for me on farm but great news is that we are over the hump! I have been creating however, as Stampin’ Up! invited me to supply some Layouts for their Heartfelt Events around Australia and New Zealand. These are for customers and demonstrators and is entirely product focused.  Im attending the Auckland one on the 15th September and am thinking of hiring a mini van to go up ..if youd like to book a seat on the bus, then email or phone me.

Heres a sneek peek of one of the three Layouts Ive done.

Just Add Winter

This week we have a chilly challenge from Patrice..Just Add Winter. Heres what I came up with for the challenge. I got my poor neglected brayer out for this one (and my Lovely as a Tree stamp set) and used the rock salt technique for the falling snow. What is the rock salt technique? Its where you sprinkle rock salt over Whisper White cardstock and run it through your Big Shot (between two plates and the platform) ..dust off the rocksalt and you are ready to brayer or sponge. Easy aye?

You cant quite see but Ive also sponged to create the snow drifts amongst the trees.

Check out what the other girls on the Design Team have come up with here

Meanwhile ..Im off to feed my calves..yep calving has started again for the year and the calves are coming in thick and fast to my sheds for me to play Mummy to!  Have a lovely and warm wintery day if you are in this part of the world!

Just Add Pearls

Im back from Convention and straight into this weeks challenge at JAI which is to Just Add Pearls.

Ive used my Just Add Ink Convention swap for my challenge this week.

Not the greatest of photos but my pearls are in the centre of the flowers.  The background is achieved by adding scrunched up white tissue to the top of the paper and embossing it with my vintage wallpaper embossing folder. I then sponged it over with Pool party ink.  I used water colour crayons to colour the flowers in (Bordering on Romance)

I have some fab news in that I was placed 3rd in NZ for Demo of the Year and 2nd in both Sales and Recruiting. Was totally shocked! Id like to thank my customers and downline (the del ink quents!) for all of their support and encouragement.  I love my job!

Happy Birthday

Today to our gorgeous 15 year old!  Ive been away at Stamp Camp this weekend and left my Hubby in charge of 3 teenage girls..he survived the experience Im happy to report but gave me a look when I got home that said ‘you owe me!’ lol

I had a fab time at our  annual Creative Inkers Stamp Camp and managed to do this card with leftover scraps from Rachaels  project for our Daughters birthday.  I brought it home and then realised it matched the Taylor Swift perfume I got her. I bought her perfume as she likes to use mine and I dont get a chance to use it before its all gone! Sheesh! ..and her other present is tickets to the Taylor Swift Concert this weekend so its a Mother and Daughter weekend next weekend (and DH will get some peace and quiet ..tick favour owed reciprocated lol) Im glad the perfume smells nice as I actually bought it because of the bottle… i.e charms! lol

The flower is a sneaky peek of a new item in our next Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue (out April 1st)

I decorated the inside with leftover scraps into a birthday cake.

Tomorrow Im showing you a  punch art card I presented at stamp camp ..actually come back every day this week (and some of next) for more cards and Scrapbook LOs. My Presentation was what to do with scraps. Very apt for me since I have lots of them and my blog is called little scraps of paper lol

Until tomorrow!…
