Little Scraps of Paper

April MKPLxSU Page

This month the MKPLSU Design Team are using the Playground kit for their pages. Typically this is a school orientated kit but I didnt want to use those type of photos with this kit as Im still trying to scrap my 2013 holiday to the US!

Heres what I came up with.

IMG_8003

The right hand side of this Pocket Page is a flip out page of which Ive just cut another pocket page in half vertically and attached with washi tape to the other. (tip..fill in the pockets before attaching the page). You cut on the seam of the pockets and if you are careful you can cut so that the seam is still intact..but if not, the washi tape can hold it in.

So check out the rest of the Design team from our Memory Keeping PL SU facebook group.

New SAB Vellum Stack

Wow arent we lucky that SU brought this out late during Sale a bration this year! Im really sad it will no longer be available after the end of this month!

Ive had a wonderful play with some of the pages and here are the results! IMG_7986-002

You can use markers (alcohol and waterbased) or blender pens and ink pads/reinkers to colour the vellum! If you aren’t using alcohol markers (like our SU blendibilities or copics etc) then you will put the coloured side down (not up)..just make sure it is dry before doing so! IMG_7988-001IMG_7992-001

I also used the Hello thinlets and The Crazy About You stamp set for all three cards. This is a bundle in our current occasions catalogue. (pg 30)

Of course all are finished off inside with leftover Vellum.

I cant quite decide which one I like the best! Which is your favourite?

MKPLSU March

Okay Ive been awol for a couple of weeks..primarily because our Daughter left home to go to University, I had a craft retreat to organise and teach at and Ive been working fulltime (and on farm too)..am I forgiven? So today its our Monthly SU  Project Life Design Team blog hop which is about travel.. I’m sure you will be sick of my incentive trip posts but I’m not lol ..so here is a double page I did using the Lets Get Away PL collection. Ive done this double LO PL page for this using the Lets Get Away PL kit and accessories, the matching stamps and the Make Note rotary stamp. The use of the alphanumeric mold and polymer paper clay was my fave thing to do with this and I distressed them with blendies and creases to go in with the mountains of Utah ..some of which we saw were/are on the outer rim of the Grand Canyon. Ive also used new (old)electric Typewriter..I haven’t got the hang of it yet but love that its portable to any classes or to my retreat last weekend that I did!  … IMG_7957-001IMG_7958-001      IMG_7961-001IMG_7967-001IMG_7966-001 so check out the other DT members for their awesome pages ..you wont be disappointed! Ive kept my page pretty simple this month but used the Stacked with Love DSP stack, Simply Pressed Clay with the alphanumerical mold and some chalkboard. Various stamps.

Rushing as off to work but do check out the other Design Team Members this month.

From the Herd

This weekend I had my Monthly Team meeting. We have a mix of crafting and a bit of Business talk (but it is mostly crafting) This month I had 14 downline attending and we had 11 shoe box swaps ..ie 11 projects to do. I said the brief was simple but umm ahh I didn’t end up holding to that brief. lol.

Heres my card using my fave stamp set From the Herd…

IMG_7905-001  IMG_7907-001IMG_7906-001

For this card, I have stamped onto watercolour paper and coloured in with blendies and fussy cut out. I used the starburst framelits for two circles and then embossed with the Happy Heart embossing folder. After cutting out the animals and adhering with glue dots I added some of the Birthday Bash Specialty Paper to the front back of the card. I finished off with the chicken inside using the leftover pieces.

I’m sending this card off to our daughter when she leaves home in a couple of weeks to head to University. We will miss her terribly but we are all very excited that she is off on her journey.

Creative Inkers Occasions Catalogue Blog Hop

6a00e553b9886d883401b7c738a08a970b-800wi

And we are back again with a blog hop, this time for the New Occasions Catalogue which is out now! You’ve just come from my friend Sallys blog and we have a large blog hop for you today.

Ive been scrapbooking for this blog hop and was really happy with both of these Layouts. The first one is using the gorgeous Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper, Birthday Bash Specialty paper, Blendabilities, Artisan embellishment kit, Hooray its your day kit, Crazy about you stamp set, Simpy Pressed paper clay and the new Numerical mold, Hello You thinlets, white cotton twine, Happy Heart Embossing folder, Ornate Tag Topper punch and a PL Journalling pen.

IMG_7873-001

So, what did I do with this LO (this took me 3 hours BTW). I drew a border with my PL marker around the outside and coloured it in to the line with my blendies. I cut out all the Something Borrowed flags and with most, I coloured in with the blendies. I drew the flags with my PL marker too. Then,  I stamped on the Birthday Bash ones. I cut a strip 2.5 inches x 12 inches (Coastal cabana stripe) and inked edges with Memento black and the other Birthday Bash paper is approx 8×10 Inches. I think the rest of the embellishing you can guess?IMG_7875-001 IMG_7877-001

IMG_7880-001And then I was on a roll so I did another Layout!!

This LO took me 2 hours to do and incorporated some of the lovely SAB paper too.

IMG_7885-001

For this LO, I used Something Borrowed DSP, Best Year Ever DSP (SAB), the new chalkboard (which I love), colorbox chalk inks, Lets Getaway PL Embellishment kit, White Jule ribbon, Artisan Embellishment kit, Washi sheets, Hello You thinlets, Birthday Basics stamp set and butterfly thinlets and the Spiral Border punch. My chalk pen around the main image was just hand done. The wooden stars are from the Hooray Its your day kit and the stamp set is called Choose Happiness.(AC) IMG_7888-001 IMG_7889-001Alrighty..now its off to the next hop on the way. check out Lisa Bullocks Blog for more ideas using the Occasions Catalogue 2015.

Creative Inkers Saleabration Blog Hop

6a00e553b9886d883401b8d0c265bb970c-500wi

Well now..its been over a month since my last blog post..sorry, been having a blog holiday!

I’m back into it again and starting off with our Creative Inkers Saleabration Blog Hop.

You may have just arrived from Sally Williams blog or you may be starting here..If you get lost ..check out the links below my post.

So today I’m focusing on one stamp set with is “Big Day” and the Best Year Ever DSP..both of which is free with any $110 purchase.6a00e54facd573883301b8d0bc71e7970c

Here’s what I came up with ..

IMG_1695-001

For this card I used a die from the mini treat bag which is in the new Occasions Catalogue along with the Happy Heart textured Embossing Folder. The Salebration ribbons and button pack featured largely in all four of my cards. I love the fact that you can also get a pack of Blendibility pens as your free product..I coloured all of these with my blendies..so therapeutic to colour, I reckon!

IMG_1696-001  This card is using the gorgeous SAB paper, I mentioned earlier and the new washi sheets (Occasions Catalogue) IMG_1692-001IMG_1688-001This last one used a new white jute ribbon (occasions) ..it is so gorgeous and I will be using lots of it I’m sure.IMG_1689-001 Finally, I stamped up the envelopes. If you are using blendies then pop a couple of scrap pieces of cardstock inside the envelope when you are colouring as they may bleed through to the back of the envelope. I had fun decorating these too!IMG_1700-001So off we go to the next blog ..which is to the lovely Lisa Bullocks blog …Have a happy day!
